Our History

Ocoee Classical Academy began in 2016 when a small group of Christian homeschooling families united around a shared vision: to provide a God-centered, classical education in a supportive community. The co-op officially launched in August 2017 with eight families.

From the start, OCA has emphasized the classical disciplines of grammar, logic, and rhetoric taught through a distinctly Christian worldview. Mothers have played a central role, teaching classes, leading discussions, and nurturing a love of learning.

The program first met at First United Methodist Church and moved in 2019 to Waterville Baptist Church, where it continued to grow in strength and stability.

In 2023, facing a transition with founding families, the remaining families and new leadership team  felt called to preserve OCA’s mission. With the support of a generous family foundation, the academy has not only endured but expanded.

Today, Ocoee Classical Academy serves 15 families in the lower grades and is excited to launch its hybrid high school program this fall, equipping students with wisdom and faith for a lifetime.
